SKATE CHINA ! NANJING 滑板 南京 2018
Art Direction for an international skateboard competition in China 中国.
The project included concept and creation of the main visual, as well as trophies for the different competition,
and various collaterals such as stickers, video & flags.
Introducing SkateFucius, the master of the competition.
To create the poster, I went to the venue and took pictures of the actual skating elements.
So the pipes embedded on the poster are the real ones, modified to create the visual.
Then, to emphasize the Nanjing origin of the contest, we merged a picture of the local temple with it.
From the start, I had the idea of animating the visual in this way, so for mobile content, I did this vertical video.
Ideally, a website could have been a nice exploration of the temple too.
Trophies were inspired by ancient Chinese money:
the knife money was in reference to the best trick contest and the rounded one was for the bowl competition.
All of they came in Gold, Silver and Bronze materials.
