Cécile McLorin Salvant was born and raised in Miami, Florida of a French mother and a Haitian father. She started classical piano studies at 5, and began singing in the Miami Choral Society at 8.
Aaron Diehl is the 2011 Cole Porter Fellow in Jazz of the American Pianists Association. Hailed by the New York Times as a “Revelation,” and the Chicago Tribune as “The most promising discovery that [Wynton] Marsalis has made since Eric Reed,” Aaron Diehl’s distinctive interpretations of the music of Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Art Tatum, Duke Ellington, and other masters pays homage to the tradition while establishing his own original voice.

Some people seek out a career in music, and some just cannot escape it. As an only child growing up in Philadelphia, gospel music and musical instruments surrounded Rodney Green at home and in church, where he spent most of his time. His father was a preacher and organist, and his mother sang in church. Rodney was drawn to the drum kit, and by age three, would climb on the kit play whenever possible.
The International Jazz Festival in PaP, HTI starts here with an attentive audience ....
To open this festival at the Historical Park of "Canne-a-Sucre", "Park historique de la Canne-a-Sucre", Buyu Ambroise and his Rara Jazz had the honors.
Vanessa Jacquemin, is a singer-composer born and raised in New York from haitian parents. She was accompanied during the Festival by the talented guitarist and her husband, Alex Jacquemin
Molly Johnson is considered as one of the greatest voices in Canada.  Her warm and natural voice has surely enchanted jazz fans at the Festival.
Who doesn't know Branford Marsalis? This unmatched saxophonist was born in 1960 in New Orleans into a family of musicians. 
 
He is thus an eclectic musician whose notoriety is thanks to a remarkable career of diversity, collaborations, and an exigency for extraordinary quality.
 
The Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival brought us his music live thanks to the collaboration with the Embassy of the United States in Haiti.

The only sextet with five members, Jazz 6 is comprised of four professional musicians plus an artist: Luis Fernando Verissimo, one of Brazil's most celebrated writers. The group was created during a jam session in a café in Porto Alegre where these instrumental jazz and bossa nova musicians met for the first time. Since then, Jazz 6 has recorded five albums to date, all of which fuse jazz with Brazilian music, and has been invited to perform in jazz festivals throughout Brazil.
Mélanie Charles is a native of Brooklyn, where she grew up listening to jazz, R&B, Kompa, gospel, and classical music. She has sung with many legends such as Clark Terry, Wynton Marsalis, and Michael Jackson.
Ilan Bar-Lavi is a Mexican-Israeli jazz guitarist and composer influenced by Son Jaracho (the traditional music of the Veracruz state in Mexico) and by Middle Eastern traditional music. He has performed in the US, Mexico, Canada, Israel, and throughout Europe.
