SIGGRAPH 2018
I lead the design, implementation, and coordination of all the promotional material for the SIGGRAPH trade show that VRAQUARE participated in at the Vancouver Convention centre. My responsibilities included poster design and printing, merchandise design and ordering, and overseeing the construction and design of the booth. The entire booth design and its construction was done in-house.

Process
I lead a team and we planed all the tasks in Trello in advance of the trade show. We starting formulating ideas for the design of the booth. We did some research to choose the materials needed to build the booth. We wanted to emphasize the 3D elements in our booth design to represent the company's product. The yellow ribs shown in the picture above is for this purpose. We used foams for the ribs because of its lightness. We used black wall paper to cover the booth wall. We used yellow and black colours to follow the company's brand.

We used CNC to cut the ribs and we painted the ribs four times. After that we started putting the booth wall structure together. When we were building the booth, we changed the wall design and iterated during construction. We used two posters to cover the side walls.
Reflection

Our team did a great job building the booth. However, we could have managed our time better to account for hiccups during construction. For example, our printer broke down on the weekend and we had to wait till Monday to fix it. Also, I learned not to print a huge poster on paper in the future and instead use cloth printing. The reason is the paper material boards can get folded or ripped easily.
