Trouble in Troggleton
Lead Game + Curriculum Design @ Institute of Play
Designed Trouble in Troggleton - a 10 week game-based math + science curriculum for 6th grade, in collaboration with teachers and content experts. Created narrative, artwork and materials using the game world of Little Big Planet and its online resources. Developed mini games to integrate into the curriculum.

In Trouble in Troggleton, students of Q2L are mysteriously contacted by the Troggles, inhabitants of a town called Troggleton on Little Big Planet. Having heard many great things about the school they reach out with an urgent plea for help to fix an odd kind of problem that has been boggling the minds of these friendly creatures. Students step into the role of teachable agents challenged to learn Math and Physics concepts in order to help the Troggles. By nature, the Troggles are inventors who are constantly experimenting, designing and building new contraptions to make life and work fun in their mischievous little world. But their wild ideas don't always work as imagined and land them into a bit of trouble.

During the course of the trimester, students receive several plea's for help via the Troggleton Interworld Teleportation Service and the
Troggle Blog. Each new problem is designed to build on the knowledge and skills learned previously pushing students to level up. Students demonstrate their learning and understanding by coming up with solutions in the form of video tutorials.  The interaction between the Troggles and students grows richer and varied as they collaborate on inventions, challenge each other, share ideas, problems and discoveries.
