RESEARCH CENTER FOR CANCER PREVENTION AND TREATMENT

This project is the final project whithin the series of the research-projects developed for Cascina Rosa site. Located in the area of Citta Studi, Milan, this special and important center is a research center on food selection to prevent cancer and minimize side effects of chemotherapy.
The site of the project represents a plot of 4200sq.m. currently occupied by parking and including the remains of the old building of Cascina.
The program developed for the project aims at enriching the activity of Cascina Rosa, making it more publicly accessible and promoting the food education, which can go together with scientific research activities.
The program develops a FAR (Floor Area Ratio) of 0.5 and consists of
-housing (for relatives of patients, professors and researchers),
-kitchen/atelier with restaurant (publicly accessible place with workshops on food treatment),
-events area (including lectures, exhibitions and classrooms spaces),
-library + bookshop (open to the city)
-startups (offices for existing or emerging organizations related with the promotion of the food treatment ways)
-market (food transformation and further sale)
