Cityhop
Lead Game + Curriculum Designer @ Institute of Play
Designed Cityhop - a 10 week game-based math + english language arts curriculum for 6th grade, in collaboration with teachers and content experts. Created narrative, artwork and materials for delivery of the curriculum in class. Researched existing mini games to support and reinforce learning within the classroom.

In Cityhop, students step into the role of travel planners charged with creating their very own world travel itinerary, one destination at a time. After having successfully resolved two Creepy Town cases for Systemia, a codebreakers academy run by twins Arithmus and Wordix, the students of Systemia are now presented with the final challenge on which depends their graduation from the academy. This final challenge is a game which has been devised in collaboration with the Creepy Town Travel Agency. Marla Tripp, the friendly Creepy Town travel agent is the main liaison who interacts with the students and guides them through the game.

As each destination is revealed, students are challenged to plan their time in the given destination within a given budget, make decisions around accommodation, entertainment, food while racking up points based on those choices. As part of the game they unlock brochures, encounter unforeseen events and win wildcards. Each student has their own Creepy Town passport on which they earn stamps for every destination successfully planned and bag awards in various categories during the course of the trimester. The trimester ends with a Creepy Town graduation ceremony.
