The Tsunami earthquake catastrophe of February 27th 2010 on Chile is a political issue on a highly emotional level. Over 500 people lost their lives. Right after the earthquake, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) in Hawaii issued a tsunami warning for the whole pacific region after the earthquake. The Chilean Navy did not heed their warning and no evacuation was issued.
ACCEDER_Ā Methodology for the creation of an emergency planĀ illustrates the communication between the different Chilean authorities during the earthquake in 2010 and the following Tsunami. Their decisions are affected by misunderstandings, language barriers, politics, machismo and the fear of committing mistakes. The video is based on emergency protocols, court reports and newspaper articles.
