Synopsis: Discovery Lane

Discovery Lane is a Reggio inspired preschool learning experience, serving students ages 2-5. The preschool was developed for families desiring an alternative childcare program that would encourage student interest and promote a gamut of healthy living experiences. Alice Lane & Shante Lane Tamerat are Co-Owners and Co-Founders of Discovery Lane. Shante served as point of contact on this project. Truly understanding of the creative process and totally receptive to her own vision and ideals, Shante proved, once again, to be a great client to work with. The experience ended up being one of my favorites client engagements.

Shante and I have worked together in the past. Much like before, we were developing a logo that spoke for the brand. The solution was to be highly figurative, readily identifiable, and appeal to children and their parents. Shante leveraged her time in education to illustrate an environment for my conceptualization. With the vision being the most important part, the solution was to be the foundation for further brand development.

The process was smooth, and the project took no more than 3-4 weeks. With a fast turnaround, success was achieved by way of familial buy-in. The Lane Sisters loved their new logo, and operate today with brand intact, and growing. Testimonials have yielded favorability amongst parents, and as a noted sign of appreciation, more opportunities to hand Lane family brand development.

This project highlights achievable cohesion between, creative and stakeholder, that can yield naturally gratifying results. The key is communication, but not for communications sake. There needs to be an intention for comprehension, and a reciprocation of that respect.
