From Girls To Women: Don't Fight Your Own Cause
Homage to The Guerilla Girls
The Guerilla Girls, a radical feminist art sabotage group, devote their art to fighting misogyny, racism, sexism, and social oppression. Their process is simple, but ingenious: take a popular image, add their iconic yellow and purple color palette, and put gorilla masks over faces, much like they do their own faces for appearances. These "gorillas" speak not only through visual art, but often publicly speak and have published essays, articles, and speeches in various books. This is a book cover design for a (fictional) publication of the Girls' work, featuring an homage to their work on the front entitled "Don't Fight Your Own Cause," featuring an image of the pop-music/dance group, The Pussycat Dolls, in a sexy tug-of-war, turned on its head by the Guerilla Girls' style.
