HubSpot, an online marketing application platform, relies heavily on value propositions that make them even more unique in their respective marketplace. Suffering from extreme feature growth, they were struggling with making good on the value proposition of "easy & integrated". This project was meant to explore the design framework for which the story of easy & integrated was to be told.
Below is the outcome of work done to first understand HubSpot's emotional values to its customers, product value research and basic visual brand definitions to act as an objective framework for design choices. Different layouts were then used as A/B tests -or- delta's amongst them all to allow for people within HubSpot who have internalized the HubSpot brand to react instinctually. Layouts were also shown to long-time customers for the same perspose.

This view shows a contextual help module that's always available in the customers experience. Keeping a customers intent intact and helping them through tasks when needed is an important part of making the application valuable. You could argue that the application should inherently teach customers that very thing but HubSpot relies on a methodology for practicing inbound marketing that is often too abstract to fit within the clicks of the platform. The contextual help module offers a bottom-up approach to application help.
