The challenge in designing a new wizard template was creating something with ultimate flexibility. The wizard needed to be a strong, ubiquitous, easily reusable component that still allow for a moderate amount of customization. The wizard can comfortably be used on page, within a modal and within a new child browser window. The template is structured to offer taks information, clear expectations, focus center and a messaging area for instruction, status and error messages.
To understand the general use case for the wizard we took it through a few scenarios we knew would employ the wizard and wireframed them out. In this case we used Lead Import.
This is the wizard in use for "Lead Import" in the HubSpot marketing application platform. Notice the template structure that includes taks information, clear expectations, a focus center and a messaging area for instruction, status and error messages.
