Illustration Proposal:
Katharsis by Kostas Kariotakis
This is a proposal for a small illustrated publication of a text by Kostas Kariotakis, a famous Greek Poet. In the text, Kostas goes on about capitalism, and explains how, in order for one to climb the social ladder, they would first have to appeal to the eyes of a sir A, a sir B e.t.c. He expresses his hatred for this system and ends up in a lash out in the middle of the text. The second part of the text changes pace. In this part he describes his days in the nature, away from it all. This big antithesis is divided by his lash out and it is one of the reasons his text is particularly interesting. Below are shown some of the pages of the illustrated proposal for the text, as well as a poster and a bookmark idea inspired by the illustrations.
In the illustrations, the protagonist is portrayed as a small office worker, with his little red tie. He is but a pawn in the greater scheme, and therefore he is faceless and tiny compared to the other characters.

The texts are taken literally in the illustrations, in that the characters actually are an A, a B, a Γ (gamma, 3rd letter of the greek alphabet) and a Δ (delta, 4th letter of the greek alphabet). The latter the letter, the higher in the ladder the person is. For that purpose they also grow in size compared to the tiny protagonist.
