Christ Church Santa Fe

Christ Church Santa Fe
As Director of Communication Arts for Christ Church Santa Fe, I develop, market and promote church events via the web, social media and traditional print.

I coordinate all work needed to create new content. This involves skill in different roles: as web administrator, I maintain the web site, conducting information architecture, web graphic design, layout and navigation edits as needed. As system administrator, I manage the domain, manage users, set up accounts for support sites such as PayPal and Backblaze; I maintain billing details and other technical sundries. I develop and generate metrics reports. As web designer, I create graphic art optimized for screen use. I convert and embed video and audio for the web site. I develop, manage and update the entire site while simultaneously producing coordinated interactive email marketing campaigns. I ensure brand standards are adhered to across all media.

Under the umbrella of print design, I create a weekly Sunday bulletin using Adobe InDesign, original art, posters, promotional cards and other print materials. Most of this is printed in house on a Xerox ColorQube 9303, which I have administrator privileges to. For major events I design environmental advertising as well (outdoor signage, large banners.) Because of our non-profit status, I have forged the necessary relationships with service bureaus for printing large jobs, as well as newspaper account executives for advertising.

I manage, research and develop original web technology solutions. I'm frequently writing and editing original content for publication. I research technology solutions and write proposals. Additionally, I teach graphic design and communications support to an assistant.

The Seven Deadly Sins
Original art to promote sermon series.
Western Barn Party
A summer event for the Women's Ministry. Matching printed materials included labels, name tags, signage, invitations, sign-up sheets and various poster sizes. These were all adapted for online promotion through the web, on social media and via email blasts.
Giddy-Up Granola
A matching label for the Barn Party.
Sharing God's Love: One Drop At A Time
The children spent one week learning about Honduras and the locations where Christ Church missionaries were installing specialized water filtration systems to help entire villages achieve clean water. Several different layouts of this typography were created to fit everything from t-shirts, to large banners and signage for environmental advertising, for traditional-sized posters and, of course, online media.
CIA Mission: Possible
The Mission Camp for this year was full of daring intrigue for the campers. Youth members contributed to the story, created movies, participated in developing and promoting the camp. Again, a variety of sizes for print and on-screen media were created.
1920s Dance
Invitations and tickets to a Youth Ministry dance.
The Extremist and The Cross
Pastoral staff chooses a theme for Christian Education and I will develop a imagery to for the marketing collateral to support and promote the series. This example is a header image which was placed on handouts and series notes written by pastoral staff.
Easter Sunday Worship
Imagery used on the web site, in email promotions, and on social media.
Christ Church has a close relationship with a local Santa Fe sculptor whose work is on loan to the congregation for Easter. This sculpture graces the altar for that day.
Creed
Imagery used to promote a Christian Education series. Many congregants later told me this provocative piece piqued their interest in the class.
