Hand-made menu for Buschenschank Fink-Tandl
My girlfriends family are proud owners of a Buschenschank in southeast Styria – it is one of the oldest Buschenschänke of the region.
Buschenschank is a place where you sell juice, wine, schnaps and cold traditional dishes – everything mainly self-made or made by your neighbors and locals in the surrounding area. These places are typical for the region where I am from and part of our cultural heritage.

I helped the family to design and create a new menu for their Buschenschank. To be in line with the self made traditions of such a place I created the menu mainly with my own hands (and a little help from my girlfriend and family to be ready for the traditional opening at the 26th of december).

- Drawing all the illustrations of different local finches (Fink means finch in english)
- Designing the menu itself
- Cutting, sanding and preparing the wood for the cover
- Screen printing and varnishing the wooden covers by hand
- Binding the menu by hand with binding tape
- Piercing the back of the cover and fixing it
