God, The Mind and Spring
Large Scale Charcoal and Ink Painting
Size: 46.88 inch x 66.22 inch
This piece is an amalgamation of my interpretations of four of Kabir’s poems.
Interpretation:
Through the composition I try to connect the different elements I picked up from each poem. Before the Universe was ever created, God resided within himself. Through the swirling cosmic web, the hands of God reach out to create the Universe as we know it. This cosmic web of the Universe that is God himself, resides within us. Between the two realms of the conscious and unconscious mind, a swing sways unceasingly. Navigating through these realms is like walking through a maze; half of which
is an easy path and the other half- complicated and obscure. Then comes the Lord of Spring, who hosts the bird that sings unstruck melodies as spring unfurls.
