This hyperrealist graphite pencil portrait was inspired by the works of Arinze Stanley Egbengwu and contains a series of sequential drawings of a friend gradually making an expression of joy. This artwork was also part of my final IB Visual Arts exhibition assessment, but it began as a simple study of the face in movement. These studies were referenced from a series of selfies taken on my phone without my knowledge.
