The Culinary Arts School
Transition from Historic to Modern
Boston's South End
Conceptual Ideas: Infusing the historic aspects of the South End and the modern technology of culinary education
The program has been separated into three categories, which participate in this transition: sale, entry, and pedagogy. In the design, from the front to the back, the design transitions from historic to modern using materials, spatial experiences, and structure. The use of colored louvres throughout the exterior is used to aid in this design.
The semester long partner project was issued to create a culinary center that would provide students with a modern education, while still remembering the history of the site and bringing in the community.
