Listening to our Elders: Working and Writing for Change
A joint project to showcase the conversations within educational caucuses
Listening To Our Elders was a joint project between New City Community Press (Philadelphia, PA) and Utah State University Press (Logan, UT) to be presented at the 2011 National Council of Teachers of English conference. For the NCTE's 100th anniversary, American educational caucases of various races, cultures, and economic status wanted to showcase their discussions on preserving their voices and heritages in education. I was entrusted with showcasing a wide variety of narrative formats—from essays and one-on-one interviews to group conversations and online chat transcripts—in a cohesive and reader-friendly manner.
