Together with the incredible team of www.achtzigzehn.at (creative and art direction, project coordination, text and graphic design, ...) I had the opportunity to create a new image world for the youth and family welfare service of the city of Graz: graz.at/allesfamilie

We decided to show that there are endless types of families with the use of illustrations of animals. As long as you care for each other and there is love you can call it a family!

Choosing animals was the easiest way for us to showcase the diversity of families without missing out or overrepresenting a certain way of living. Everybody can interpret the displayed illustrations the way they want and every kind of family should be represented. We also had to showcase some difficult family situations and this worked out really fine with the use of animal illustrations

My part was to create the illustrations and in this case I didn't want to use any pen or tablet. I drew everything with the computer mouse – so it has a unique and wacky way of being friendly and childish which fits better to the topic than more realistic illustrations.

The shown notebook was the first product where the illustrations had been used. In the meanwhile lots of other products did use the illustrations (All the applications of the illustrations have been designed by www.achtzigzehn.at).

The following are all the finished illustrations i did for the project. The selection used in the book represents the clients requests. I wanted to push it a little bit more sometimes – some of those illustrations didn't make it into the final designs but I wanted to show them here anyways.
