Label - The process
Here's what usually starts all my processes, one of the quick sketches.
I transfer over these lines into photoshop and then paint them over and create its own layer.
I start adding in the base color and putting the black bar where I planned to put the title to this coffee so I wouldn't have to waste my time painting in an area that wouldn't be seen.
This is where I start adding the placement of the borders and logo. I also added more details into the petal and cherries and cleaned up the lines. There's a small drop shadow to create some contrast between the cherries and the planned dark red background.
Now I get the base color down and add some more borders. I created the filigree pattern using illustrator and using lots of curves.
I then add text, grudge textures and label information to finish off the piece.
Here is information and design that will be on the back of the bag.
This final picture more accurately represents how it actually looks when printed. Everything was designed around the printer we have so I had to compensate for it's printing style by making my initial design on the brighter side. This is however, how I see the final product finished.
