Brochure Project
I was excited when we got the opportunity to make a vacation brochure for class. We got to show off a place in the world using pictures and research from professionals to create something that may influence people to travel. I knew I wanted to do Machu Picchu because my parents had recently returned from a vacation there, so I was able to use their pictures instead of having to go searching for some. For this project, I wanted to tie in the atmosphere of Machu Picchu by using neutrals and rich blues and greens. I did not want to use much, or any, dark blacks or grays because I felt it would take away from the stones and mountains in the pictures, so I kept my font brown. This matched the photos well. I had a lot of information I wanted to incorporate about Machu Picchu, but I also did not want it to look crowded or sloppy. To avoid this, I left-aligned my text (giving it a clean look) and made use of paragraph spacing that would break up the text. Since the brochure was our final project, I wanted to make it the best one yet, and, when compared with my other projects, I believe I accomplished that.
