Ways Blowplast Will Be Fostering a Greener Future in 2024, and Beyond.
As we look ahead, industry leaders like Blowplast will continue to pursue sustainability measures in 2024 and beyond, enriching the planet for us all. Blowplast is also excited about continuing to serve its customers with sustainable packaging solutions. The company expects its sustainability goals to advance significantly in 2024 and beyond in the following ways;

Embracing Solar Energy
Electricity produced by fossil fuels happens to be one of the greatest contributors to global greenhouse gas emissions. The burning of carbon-based fuels emits enormous volumes of CO2, which contributes to global warming. Renewable energy sources, such as solar, produce electricity with minimal emissions of greenhouse gases throughout their life cycle. By continuing to use renewable energy sources in 2024 and beyond, Blowplast can reduce its emissions.  In 2022, the company paved the way for renewable energy by installing 945KW of solar energy. As much as it’s made the company more receptive to the rising energy costs, it has been the biggest driver in lowering operational emissions. As we move ahead, Blowplast is looking for new ways to incorporate solar energy into its operations.

Partnering with Eco-conscious Companies on the Use of PCR Material
Blowplast for the first time launched a recycled Unilever scouring plastic jar four years ago, with 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin content.  In 2023, Blowplast hopped into the lubricant industry and partnered with brands such as Total Energies Kenya and Shell & Vivo Lubricants to make lubricant containers made from recycled plastic. This year and beyond, Blowplast anticipates working together with other eco-conscious companies to use PCR in plastic packaging, thus lowering overall packaging emissions. At Blowplast, we are ready to meet this particular demand.  By procuring PCR content for our operations, the company can provide customers with sustainable packaging while retaining product quality and functionality.

Minimizing the Industry’s Carbon Footprint
Currently, 22% of Blowplast’s daily energy consumption comes from solar energy, resulting in lower emissions compared to the previous years. This means that the company’s efforts to embrace solar energy are paying off and made a significant reduction in our annual emissions, lowering the industry’s carbon footprint—although there’s still more to be done. Blowplast will continue to seek ways to lower its industry’s carbon footprint via innovation and responsible stewardship of the planet, contributing to a better future for every one of us.

This year and beyond will present new opportunities, and Blowplast will continue to make advancements toward sustainability. Blowplast values partnerships with its customers and aspires to lead the way for environmentally responsible practices.
