The Plateau tableware collection sets out to ease the work of maintaining the everyday. Every plate double-tasks as a cover; this allows heat to be stored while cooking, offers a hot-plate while eating & reduces the amount of dishes to be washed. With Plateau I wanted to ease people's lives just a little bit by saving them just a tiny bit of time, everyday. But ultimately I hope the use of my product leads to happier relationships between housemates.
The raised wing along the side of the plate lets you finish simple meals without dirtying a knife: time spent doing dishes is time lost with your loved ones.
While cooking simply turn a Plateau plate over & use it as a cover. A thermochromic coating on the outside of the plate goes white to black to advise caution when it's hot. The hole on the plates allow steam to escape & makes it easier to hang when you’re done.
With 2 handles on either side this tea set provides ease when pouring from opposite sides of the table. The spout manifests itself when a tea plate is flipped & placed on top as a cover. The Plateau tea spout is symbolic of fellowship by encouraging people to pour tea for each other.
The Plateau series incorporated 3D printed cups featuring half-handles allowing it to stack more efficiently. Though not ready yet they anticipate smarter, stronger architecture using 3D printing.
Sebastian Errazuriz created a soup bowl that had one end deeper than the other. This tweak, though tiny, is useful for the everyday & so I've implemented his design into my collection.
