After completing the book reading, I showed the students how the book was illustrated digitally on an iPad using the ProCreate illustration app.
I wrote and illustrated a book to share with Big Island elementary school children as part of the "Journey Through the Universe" program that brings astronomers and educators to meet with students and discuss their careers. Interspersed with recent and historical NASA scientific explorations, I illustrated the story of my career within the space agency with the intent of alerting our next generation about the numerous roles available to them within the agency. I also shared my story to encourage all the students to understand how art plays a role within the STEAM curriculum.
