The context

Oporto sound culture has changed. The transformation of the city nightlife opened a bunch of new possibilities. Let’s go global, let’s unite. Let’s join a bunch of good bands and represent them. Let’s make some parties, some gigs, let’s go global and invite some international stars as well.
If the city has new things, let’s be the new sound of Oporto.

The challenge

It all started with a group of music aficionados leaded by Ricardo Salazar, who challenge us to create a logo that remind us something of the legendary brands that make the record history: Blue note, RCA, etc

And then it was the name: Sister Ray.
The iconic music from velvet underground, yup from the one with the banana album on it.

Our Solution?

If we’re gonna make something about music, lets start it from there. We’ve listen the single for hours… we went graphic with the notes. We’ve joined two quarter notes and managed to create an S on a symmetrical grid.

For the type, we’ve gone simple as well. Let’s use Futura medium condensed and hope that it solves all the communication needs with a joint venture with a circle that is like our passion for the music: - Omnipresent.
