Collaboration with wrapping paper company Impression Originale.

This piece was inspired by the gorgeous Art Deco stained glass ceiling at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris and was displayed at Impression Originale's Christmas 2017 L'Atelier Cadeau Créateur (Designer Gift Workshop) at Bon Marché.

The first step was to draft up the ceiling based on a photograph. 

Next, cutting the flat ceiling elements out of gold cardstock.

Then, making the dimensional elements out of gold quilling paper.

Combining the paper cut with the quilled elements, and adding the straight lines of the ceiling grid, also done with layers of gold quilling paper.  

The Art Deco stained glass of the original Bon Marché ceiling is represented by the Op-art pattern of the wrapping paper by Impression Originale. The wrapping paper background is on its own separate layer, allowing the pattern to be switched out as desired.
