The cursed fox.

Once upon a time there was a spirit fox named Kenna.
She was kind, naive and beloved between the other spirits.
The little fox spirit was a zenko; one of the good foxes of Inari, the kami of fertility .
Kenna was more powerful than the others and in few years she became what every zenko desired.
A kyubi no kitsune, the nine-tailed fox with white fur.
Usually becoming it required thousand years, but Kenna’s spiritual power was different and deep.
She was one of Inari’s most beloved kyubi no kitsune.
The kami loved her kindness, her way to take care of the other spirits and how she helped humans in troubles; but the value Inari loved most in the young fox was the naivety.
Being so innocent was her curse.
There was a man called Hideo, who had lost himself and didn’t trust in anything anymore.
He was a young prince, heir to the throne of a beautiful vast kingdom but his family had a lot of enemies.
One of them, during a night, attacked the palace and killed his family.
Hideo was left alive and exile from the kingdom because the new emperor wanted him to suffer.
The young prince found refuge at the borders  of his kingdom, in a noble family loyal to his father.
Hideo was tormented, a part of himself wanted to reconquer the kingdom belonged to his family but on the other side he just wanted to surrender to the loss.
Kenna, driven by the sweetness inside of her heart, used one of her magical power and assumed a human form in order to help Hideo to find a reason to not give up.
She stayed by his side for a lot of years and fell in love with him and his gorgeous expressive eyes.
The prince didn’t notice her love, all of his thoughts were turned to his lost kingdom and to the tyrant who was destroying it. So he decided he would get it back or he would die in the attempt.
After few years Hideo reconquered the kingdom helped by the noble family’s army and the inhabitants of the kingdom, tired of the tyrant.
Even a kyubi no kitsune appeared, influencing the fate of the battle.
Finally Hideo was in front of the tyrant.
The enemy of his father.
The murderer of his family.
And it was in a moment: resentment took over and hatred led Hideo’s hand holding the sword.
The prince cut off his enemy’s head with a ferocity never seen before.
The prince became the legit emperor and the kingdom celebrated him.
Hideo look for Kenna everywhere but no one remembered about her.
Confused and afraid, the young emperor walked in the battlefield to search even there. He found the beautiful kyubi no kitsune who helped him in the battle.
She smiled.
The young emperor recognised that way to smile and one name left his lips.
Kenna.
The white fox was supposed to go back in the spiritual dimension because she had completed her mission in helping Hideo to find himself.
She was ready to leave but Hideo took her hand and asked to stay.
They loved each other for a while.
The men soon fell to the greed that was in their heart. And it was like that for Hideo too.
He wanted more. To be more influent and powerful than his father.
To be remembered for glorious memories. No matter if good or bad ones.
Glorious memories.
Thanks to his ability as leader, Hideo guided his army in the neighbouring kingdoms to conquer them and to create the most vast and prosperous kingdom of all ages.
The spiritual powers of Kenna were indispensable. She acted in the name of love, to make his emperor happy.
She didn’t notice that her spirit was staining with corruption.
Hideo manipulated Kenna, using her naivety and her love for him to obtain something that no man can have.
Supernatural powers.
All the kami didn’t forgive Kenna for this extra corrupted gesture and they cursed her.
First of all they took away her sight, so that she cannot see the wonders of the world anymore. And to live in the darkness.
They cut eight of her nine tails but maintaining her white fur.
She had to be a warning to others.
No one should ever forget the kyubi no kitsune who betrayed the spiritual dimension.
Starting being a naive beloved zenko and after being a powerful heavenly fox...
She lost everything, becoming a yako.
An evil cursed fox.
