Project Description
The scope of the project was to create a simple and intuitive user interface for an operator chair. This type of chair is mainly used in cranes for loading and offloading cargo containers.
The previous solution was a touch screen with individual buttons for all operations. And with over 30 different ways of changing the seating position, the UI was a bit cluttered.
My Role
At the beginning of the project, I made wireframes and a few concepts regarding the visual aestetics of the UI. After that, I collaborated with a 3D artist to create the different renders needed for the entire UI.
When all assets where finished, I created a clickable prototype using InVision. I validated the system through a few tests with the client and some end-users.
After everything was approved from the client I worked with an automation engineer to build the application.
Project Results
The outcome of this project was a clean and simple UI, that is quick and easy to work with. A bonus that the client was happy with is the fact that there is no text anywhere in this application. Which means that no translation into different languages is needed.
